The backyard dirt jump rebuild is always a mission but Jamie has smashed the building this spring ready for a sick summer riding and adding to my backyard trails. The progression this year should be insane! Enjoy the build lapse and healing vibes to Jamie who had a big crash which looks insane on the POV!
Legends
Build lapse music brings back many memories and feelings.
Literally longed for each lockdown build video and was all we had to look forward to at the time and was the best thing on the screens.
Me and the Mrs loved it all.
Just hope everyone is still friends as the group camaraderie is/was so good.
Fr
literally what I was thinking
Good old Jamie. Legend.
Forgot how good the build lapses are. Can't wait to see DirtFarm again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I used to binge these videos in those early Covid days, this brings me back! Super rad
This is all I've ever wanted from you. Build, ride, repeat..... Excited for the Playground action again!
Love a good old build lapse.
I've missed the build laps music
@ agreed!
Jamie is the foundation of this channel imo he makes it so you can ride and make views!!! I really hope he gets something for what he does, because it is epic how good he is!!!
Jamie lying on the floor, unable to barely breathe....
Matt: I'm gonna make you laugh.......
Maaaan. I legit LIVED for these buildlaps’s in lockdown. I used to get so excited when you posted. Bought back some memories Matt. Awesome video and Jamie’s a legend as always 🤞😃
Damn this felt like a lockdown throwback
1:55 legends will remember this soundtrack
It's the original right? Thought it sounded comfortably familiar
Sadly the channel fell off so hard. Or maybe it's just me.
Core memory unlocked 🔓🔑
The playground bro
Top video Matt. You're the reason I got properly into mountain biking, I always enjoyed it. Just never had my own gear. Now because of you I do. I'm awful at it but it's a blast and I'll only get better. Keep it up. Legend!
Good job remaking and repairing those jumps. Miss Ben....
Me too. What happend what did i mis?
You make one of the best building Content. I love it!
Thank you to all of you. This is pure escape... something I definitely needed from all my "adulting" responsibilities. You make your versions of adulting look a lot more fun... well, maybe not for Jameson at the end. Hope you are recovering from that fall.
Such an epic series can't wait to see the playground come back to life. Keep up the hard work Jamie and Matt
what an incredible effort from everyone, jamie is truly an artist with a spade!
Came to say it filled me with joy that you still talk about the all important handrail.
As a cool dad who rides bikes too, dont stress about having Cove involved in and round the vids so cool to have some fam interactions ❤
The amount of time I've heard matt say "I need to add a handrail" across all the builds is hilarious
So good to have a build lapse! Jamie is a legend, balls of steel that lad!!! ❤
Hope Jamie's okay ! Have a good recovery man, it was a great send
good old memories are coming back, looking forward for more content
10:34 I think is what, almost 2 years now Matt has said "I need to add a handrail here. I'm not a complete lunatic" 🤣🤣
The new video guy is doing a great job, loving the time lapse vibes with the clips and editing 👌
More build lapses!!! miss when Matt, Jamie and Ben were just building and riding and goofing around haha
That has been missing in my life, build lapses and that tune brings it all rushing back..
you know its a good day when you see that matt has uploaded
God, I've missed the build lapses, great that you made the 2nd one even higher for Jamie to face plant from the very top!
You're never late if you show up with breakfast!
Wow, they do look sick. The proudest, handsome flock of sheep in all the land. Well Done!
Best build laps in the business great stuff as always
I'm going to make a little suggestion for something to try someday. Instead of just making big piles of dirt and shaping them, maybe try burying large things to use as "structural fill." For example, you could get large piles of stones - think baby head sized stone - and then place your soil on top of it and shape it from there. This would give he soil some structure underneath and also a bit of drainage, especially if you place some structural fabric between the stone and the dirt.
Finally more Playground content, been watching the first episodes on repeat. Can’t wait!
Ohhh A build and Ride. Oh how I missed thee.
You know it's a Good Sunday when my 4 Favorite RUclips Bikers Post Videos...Matt Jones, Sam Pilgrim, Brendog and BK.
First video in probably 18 months ive watched. Im glad it was this one!
Best part of my day!!! We need more build content
You know it's a good day when matt jones and berm peak upload
The time lapse music always gets me hyped for summer! 👏🏼
The build lapse music brings me back to 20' and 21'.
I think is long time subs deserve a guest appearance… we don’t care what happened that’s between you guys. Swallow the pride. Make it right. Your both doing your own things now 🤙🔥🔥🔥
Loved these types of videos matt I hope to see more of them
Have you tried building the jumps using cob (clay mixed with straw and water)? The straw acts like rebar in concrete and would stop the lips and landings collapsing. Once the jump has it's main shape, it can be dressed with normal clay for that silky smooth finish 😉
That soundtrack brings me back to covid, Love it
Mate that marin is pure 🔥 😍love that colour, and the wheel writing sets it off ,lovely jumps 😎
Hope all is well. You guys are always awesome. Past, present, and future, whenever i tune in, im happy!
Thanks for all the hard work on these videos!
2:46 Absolutely love him. He looks like hes helping you out a ton.
Yessssss build series and playground rebuild im here for this this is the content from Matt we needed
I'm convinced these guys built the pyramids
I love a good ol fashion build lapse
these trails made me a fan of the channel, crazy nostalgia rn
Nice! Laughed at your case even on the 2nd watch! 😂😂😂
Ha ha "The curse of Jamie watching." lol. epic.
Jamie lays on the ground like a proper footballer!
Good job, Jamie, get 'em next time.
Gold I'm old this series is already 5yo but the music still vibes the same!
Looks amazing, a tonne of hardwork but definitely looks worth it👌
Cool vid Matty, get well soon Jamie, that was a good one
nostalgic build lapse
Should name this video Jamie's shoulders building my backyard jumps because he always carries my channel 😂😂😂
Have fun and be safe at DarkFest. Looks like Sam has created some new features that you should have fun with
This is where Jamie shines!
Good to see Jamie back to carrying the channel 👌
I commented last year that you should mix wheat straw in your clay and it wont break off like that. It acts as a composite. Cob is a hell of a thing
we've always put patches of grass, and let it bind on both the back and sides. it keeps water preventing both dry out, rain rot and prevent cracking. over time, some grass is trying to grow over the riding surface, but the jumps never collapse... i donno, we have a lot of heavy rain in the autumn, and dry but short summer. but this technique works great, at least up here in norther scandinavia... with tarp covering the riding surface, i usually still have tire marks uncovering them in spring
love this matt keep up the good work mate
Don't get me wrong, these are awesome jumps, but the hand built smaller jumps you did with Ben were way more fun.
Jumps look insane 👌
Brother, you are a legend, and I enjoy watching your content, BUT! GIVE US A NEW BUILD LAPSE BEAT/TUNE!!!!...😂LOL
Jamie's like the terminator he's a machine
Even Sherlock Holmes would struggle with that @ 12:44
PLEASE MATT; MAKE THIS A SERIES!.
14:40 "i think its time to Crack a Bull"
I thought he said "time to Pack a Bowl"
😂😂😂😂😂
I needed this today, it's been a tough one
16:20 i really expected him to snap his collarbone.... thankfully hes alright
so good to hear build lapse music again
gooooo jamie!! absolute legend for smashing it out!!
hope jamies all good, the jumps look so sick !
Mate this is unreal 🔥🔥
this build lapse song has been in the back of my head for months now and it just clicked
1:55........ahhhhhh, the good old days 😌
Hey Matt, could you start putting including the total elapsed time for these builds too? the amount of time and effort to make quality trails like this is easy to overlook
Build lapse montage 10/10 quality. Well done new editor
I broke my collar bone just watching this.
i have been waiting so long for this. altho i know u couldnt do a whole lot till winter was over🤙
Not the same without Ben 🙏💜
I miss the awkward fist bumps, the playground series will defo be different 🥲
@ the comradely between the three was a great match. His laughter makes you smile large! 🙏💜
Wait, 1:19 ... is he talking about gorge rd trails in Queenstown NZ?
17:25 Jamie needs a new hoody, just 8 lives left 🤣
Playground is gonna be sick!
Rip ben
For winter prep. Will it work to strap the ramps. I am imagining like formwork that's strapped to the ramps so the increase in weight of the clay due to the high humidity and rain will not cause the ramp to collapse under its own weight.
You know what would be sick Matt, is to add a final jump over the end fence that closely breaks into a massive burn that wraps back around into a trick jump into the grass area
Burn or berm? Im here for the pyro.
Pure lockdown nostalgia
Wup wup 🎉🎉🎉MATT !!! Nice Shredy to ready ❤
Can't believe how nostalgic the build lapse music is. Man I've missed that tune. Lol
I thought I'm the only one using my hands to pack up the dirt 😂
That darn hand rail lmao 🤣
Cool video and Jamie is still carrying the channel of course, but weird without Ben. Hope he good.
We used to use just a little bit of mortar or quick Crete to mix into the mud and clay to make it much stronger but still be the same for trail riding
The production value of the buid lapses went up A TON
So excited about the playground reboot
Jamie is an absolute beast … what would you do without him?
Darkfest is gonna be sickkk
Can some one please explain why the sides of the jumps need to be so steep. Surely if they weren't so steep it woul help to stop collapses.. I'm intrigued to know the reason?
